Sadly, the Figure 8 wall is not being restored to its original condition. The owner is moving forward with his plan to turn it into a 3D mural.
The money we raised will be donated to Free Arts for Abused Children on 2/28, a charity endorsed by the Elliott Smith Memorial Fund.
If you made a donation & want a refund, please contact us. Thank you for your support.

I’m planning a gathering at the wall for any fans who’d like to pay their respects to the late artist.
The get-together will begin around 5:30pm.

Earlier this week I talked to Stephon, the owner of Solutions, about letting us re-paint the wall. Contrary to what he said in the first email I received from him (see post below), he does not want to go through with a restoration.
This news brought tears to my eyes. It’s a disappointment that the hand-out from Elliott’s loving fans was not accepted, but if he chooses to have his wall unrecognizable then so be it.
I appologize for the confusion all this has brought upon you guys. His words of regection brought tears to my eyes and I wish it didn’t have to be the way it is.
In regards to everyone’s donation- All money will be returned soon. PayPal has a tax but I’m using money from my own pocket to cover what was lost.
Thank you everyone for understanding and cooperating with the obsticles that were set before us.
If you have and questions don’t hesitate to contact me at Info@SaveFigure8.com

On Tuesday we spoke to Stephon, the owner of Solutions. To let him know that we raised enough money to restore his wall. Unfortunately, he is not ready to proceed with the restoration. He spoke of plans to change the wall from a mural to a 3D sculpture, complete with a monument and streaming music.
He suggested that we use the money we raised to purchase a large canvas and have a painter replicate the wall’s design on it and allow fans to sign the canvas. The canvas can then be moved to any location. While we think this is a swell idea, everyone that donated gave their money under the impression that it would be used to restore the wall. Our conversation ended with Stephon basically telling us to hang on to the money and see how the people who donated feel.
I’m really disappointed. The email I received from Solutions on August 12th clearly stated that they were interested in restoring the wall and the cost would be about $500 (See email below). We will continue to discuss this with Stephon and we hope that he will be receptive to returning the wall to its original state. I promise to keep you posted on the progress.

Subject: Re: To the Owner(s) of Solutions;
Dear allegra,
Our apologies for the delayed response, many of our emails have been going straight to the spam folder. We really do need to restore the wall, however, we have restored it so many time where money is becoming an issue. We are so appreciative of fans like yourself who have been so supportive of the wall. Please let us know if you are able to gather a group of true artists together to help us restore the wall because we would love to do it soon. We have spoken to a mural restoration artist that has agreed to restore the wall to it’s original state for about $500. Hopefully the funds you raise can go towards that or towards your own team of artists if desired. Please speak to Diane about the wall whenever you have questions that need to be raised over the phone. Meanwhile, contacting this email address is sufficient as well.

Meghan Lang is doing us the honor of getting a plaque for the wall! It will, of course, include Elliott’s name, dates and a line from a song, to be determined by us, the fans. Please share your opinions!

Solutions says it will only take $500 to fully restore the wall. You can send your generous donations via PayPal to donations@SaveFigure8.com or use the form in the right column. With any donation over $5 you can receive a Bubble Rock of your choice (pictures will be posted soon). Updates on the funds will be made regularly. Thank you for your support!
